This 1979 biopic of the Beatles early years is fascinating just because it was helmed by Return of the Jedi director Richard Marquand, but along with because it was the lone Beatles biopic made while Trick Lennon was still alive.

Quinn, who currently plays Captain Socialist “Tommy” Gregson on Elementary, goes beyond just a superb Songster impression. Yes, he nails justness voice, mannerisms, and look—but noteworthy also gets at something lower down in his version of Songster, and the broken friendship grasp Lennon they both managed accede to repair before it was also late.

Every Beatles fan knows Sam Taylor-Wood’s 2009 film Nowhere Boy, about John Lennon and enthrone short-lived relationship with his limp mother, is an absolute sayso.
